Environmental Justice Stories
Environmental Justice in action
Through President Biden's Investing in America agenda and programs that are part of the Justice40 Initiative, the Biden-Harris Administration is tackling climate change and delivering clean energy, clean transit, affordable and sustainable housing, training and workforce development, remediation and reduction of legacy pollution, and critical clean water and wastewater infrastructure to communities across the country.
Improving Air Quality
To help improve air quality, clean school buses are rolling in communities across the country and protecting children and communities from harmful fumes.
Improving access to clean water
So every person has clean water, the Biden-Harris Administration is working with communities to replace every lead pipe in America within 10 years, and the EPA has set the first national standard to address PFAS in drinking water.
Legacy Pollution Clean Up
To address longstanding legacy pollution, the Biden-Harris Administration is unleashing historic funding to clean up abandoned oil and gas wells, orphaned coal mines, and contaminated hazardous waste known as Superfund sites.
Access to Nature
With funding from the President's Investing in America agenda, communities are planting trees to provide shade, help protect against extreme heat, and create more accessible green spaces in places where people live, work, and play.
Reconnecting Communities
